Romania - Inno4Health

Romania

The Romanian partners in Inno4Health are targeting a strategic line of development for ICT in Health by improving the health of the population through rehabilitation and spa care.

During the Inno4Health project, the Romanian partners aim to enhance and pave new roads in the health industry as follow:

  • University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Iasi has the role to create, design and conduct a randomized interventional clinical study who undergo bariatric surgery, evaluated before and after the intervention over the entire period of study; a separate arm of the trial will undergo a pre-operative lifestyle change program designed by a multidisciplinary team.
  • Incorporating physical activity as daily practice for bariatric programs to enhance weight loss and cardiorespiratory fitness that will potentially reduce cardiovascular disease, mortality, and health care costs. At institutional level, the project will contribute to the progress of scientific knowledge by advanced research for solving a complex health problem and developing original solutions.
  • Analyze various wearable devices, focusing on the technical means to collect the data. This task, for wearable data collection, will pursue cloud platform APIs (from wearable vendors such as Garmin, Fitbit, etc.) and other applications which allow data collection.
  • Developing decision support system tools to strengthen its position with the Inno4Health partners, in order to integrate the collection of wearable health devices data in cloud platforms.
